    Campionat Internațional de Slam Poetry
    NOD International Literary Rights Festival · Ediția 2026
    (24 – 27 septembrie 2026, Brașov)


    Slam poetry e locul unde poezia iese din pagină și intră în corp: unde textul nu se citește, ci se rostește, se strigă, se șoptește, iar ritmul, respirația și prezența scenică devin la fel de importante ca textul. În cadrul NOD 2026 are loc prima ediție a unui campionat internațional de slam poetry, o scenă deschisă poeților performeri din România și din întreaga lume. Prezentul regulament descrie condițiile de participare, etapele competiției și modul de jurizare.

    1. Despre campionat

    Campionatul Internațional de Slam Poetry se desfășoară în cadrul NOD International Literary Rights Festival, ediția 2026 (24–27 septembrie 2026, Brașov). Competiția reunește poeți performeri din întreaga lume și premiază cea mai bună combinație de text și performance live. Rundele finale (semifinala și marea finală) au loc pe scena festivalului, pe 27 septembrie 2026.

    2. Organizator

    Campionatul este organizat de echipa NOD International Literary Rights Festival. Comunicarea oficială cu participanții se face prin e-mail, la adresa manuscris@nodfestival.ro, și prin canalele oficiale ale festivalului (nodfestival.ro și rețelele sociale).

    3. Eligibilitate

    • Vârstă: minimum 18 ani împliniți la data festivalului.
    • Deschidere: concursul este deschis oricui, indiferent de țară, limbă maternă sau parcurs artistic. Nu contează dacă ai ani de open mic în spate sau dacă e prima ta scenă.
    • Individual: fiecare participant concurează individual, cu texte proprii.
    • Incompatibilități: membrii juriului desemnat, ai comitetului de preselecție și ai echipei de organizare nu pot concura.

    4. Etapele competiției

    Competiția are patru etape. La Brașov sunt invitați 12 semifinaliști; dintre aceștia, cei mai buni 6 avansează în Marea Finală. Numărul de poeți care avansează dintr-o etapă în alta poate fi ajustat de organizatori în funcție de numărul și calitatea înscrierilor.

    5. Înscriere

    5.1. Ce trimiți la înscriere (Etapa 1)

    • 2 texte originale (în format PDF sau DOCX), fiecare însoțit de o traducere în limba engleză*
    • un scurt bio de maximum 80 de cuvinte: cine ești, de unde vii, ce te-a adus aici, de ce scrii poezie;
    • date de contact (nume, e-mail, telefon, țară și oraș) și limba în care vei performa;
    • declarația de originalitate a textelor, acordul de filmare/difuzare și consimțământul GDPR;
    • confirmarea că ai minimum 18 ani și acceptarea prezentului regulament.

    5.2. Cum te înscrii

    Înscrierea se face online la manuscris@nodfestival.ro.

    5.3. Runda video (Etapa 2)

    Poeții selectați după prima etapă sunt anunțați prin e-mail și trimit o înregistrare video cu performance-ul lor, în intervalul 16–31 august 2026. Durata înregistrării este de maximum 4 minute. Videoul se va trimite prin formular. Instrucțiunile procedurale detaliate (format acceptat, mod exact de trimitere, cerințe tehnice) se comunică după selecția pe bază de text.

    5.4. Specificații tehnice pentru texte

    Cele 2 texte trimise la înscriere (Etapa 1) și traducerile lor respectă următoarele specificații:

    DiacriticeFișierul trebuie să afișeze corect diacriticele. La PDF: export cu fonturi încorporate (embed). Codare UTF-8.
    Lungime (reper 4 min.)Orientativ maximum ~400–500 de cuvinte per text (aprox. 2.500–3.000 de semne cu spații). Limita obligatorie rămâne timpul de 4 minute; numărul de semne este doar un reper de calibrare, deoarece ritmul diferă de la un performer la altul.
    StructurăFiecare dintre cele 2 texte pe pagină separată, maximum 2 pagini per text. Titlul textului deasupra (sau mențiunea „fără titlu”).
    Traducerea în englezăAceeași formatare ca originalul, imediat sub textul original sau ca fișier separat, clar denumit.
    Denumire fișierNume_Prenume_Titlu.pdf (ex.: Popescu_Maria_Insomnie.pdf).
    Conținut vizualDoar text. Fără imagini, grafică sau elemente decorative.

    Notă privind lungimea. O rostire performată are în medie, aprox. 110–120 de cuvinte pe minut (mai lent decât vorbirea obișnuită, din cauza pauzelor, respirației și accentelor). Un text de 4 minute înseamnă, orientativ, 400–500 de cuvinte. Poeții care rostesc rapid (rap, flux dens) pot încadra mai mult; cei care lasă spațiu și tăcere vor avea mai puțin. De aceea limita reală este cronometrul, nu numărul de semne.

    5.5. Alte precizări privind textele și înscrierea

    • Termen și fus orar: înscrierile online se închid la ora 23:59 (ora României), la data prevăzută în calendar.
    • Confirmare de primire: Participantul primește automat o confirmare că înscrierea a fost înregistrată.
    • Video (Etapa 2): înregistrarea este în format MP4, minimum 720p, cadru orizontal, o singură filmare continuă (fără montaj sau tăieturi), cu sunet clar și poetul vizibil, de maximum 4 minute. Instrucțiunile detaliate se comunică conform art. 5.3.

    6. Reguli de text și de performance

    • Originalitate: textele trebuie să fie originale, scrise de participant.
    • Durată: maximum 4 minute per text în rundele live; maximum 4 minute pentru înregistrarea  video din Etapa 2 (vezi penalizările la art. 10).
    • Pe scenă: fără recuzită, fără costume, fără instrumente și fără acompaniament muzical, doar vocea și textul. O foaie, un caiet sau un telefon folosite pentru citirea textului nu se consideră recuzită.
    • Cânt: cântatul, beatboxul și rapul sunt permise ca moduri de a rosti textul.
    • Texte reutilizate: nu se pot repeta texte deja performate în campionatele de slam poetry de oriunde.
    • Conținut: nu se admite conținut care incită la ură, la discriminare sau la violență.

    7. Limba și subtitrarea

    Fiecare poet performează în limba pe care o alege – de regulă, limba maternă. În rundele live, textele sunt subtitrate simultan pe scenă în română și engleză, pentru ca fiecare vers să ajungă la fiecare om din sală. Evaluarea pune accent pe măiestria textului în limba originală și pe performance; traducerea servește pentru înțelegere și acces, nu este obiect de jurizare literară.

    8. Jurizare și clasare

    Juriul este format din publicul din sală și dintr-un număr de jurați desemnați de organizatori (persoane din domeniul literar și al artelor spectacolului). Componența exactă a juriului se anunță la selecția celor 12 semifinaliști.

    La rundele live nu se afișează note imediat după fiecare performance. Astfel, niciun poet nu este dezavantajat de ordinea intrării pe scenă, iar juriul evaluează după ce i-a ascultat pe toți concurenții rundei.

    • Clasare la final de rundă: după ce toți concurenții au urcat pe scenă, fiecare jurat desemnat clasează poeții (locul 1, 2, 3…), pe baza întregii runde.
    • Punctaj (sistem de tip Borda): într-o rundă cu 12 poeți, locul 1 primește 12 puncte, locul 2 primește 11 puncte, locul 3 primește 10 puncte ș.a.m.d. Se adună punctele acordate de toți jurații; poeții cu cele mai mari totaluri avansează.

    9. Votul publicului

    Pe parcursul rundelor live, publicul din sală votează digital (de pe telefon) și este parte a juriului. Ponderea votului publicului față de a juraților desemnați în clasamentul final: 50% public / 50% juriu desemnat.

    10. Penalizări

    • Timp: depășirea timpului se penalizează cu 1 punct la fiecare 5 secunde peste limită. După depășirea cu un minut a timpului alocat, prezentatorul (MC) poate întrerupe performance-ul.
    • Reguli: nerespectarea regulilor de text sau de performance poate duce la descalificare, prin decizia organizatorilor împreună cu MC-ul.

    11. Departajare (egalitate)

    La egalitate de puncte între doi sau mai mulți poeți se organizează o rundă suplimentară de departajare, în care poeții implicați performează un text nou; se compară noul punctaj.

    * În etapa 1, de înscriere, participanții nu trebuie să trimită acest al treilea text. El va fi trimis în runda video, etapa 2, și aceștia trebuie să-l aibă în vedere pentru performance, în runda de departajare, în cazul în care au fost selectați pentru semifinală/finală.

    13. Cheltuieli de participare, deplasare și cazare

    Modul de acoperire a cheltuielilor de transport și cazare pentru cei 12 semifinaliști invitați la Brașov: participare pe cont propriu.

    14. Drepturi de autor, imagine și date personale

    • Drepturi de autor: autorii își păstrează integral drepturile asupra textelor proprii.
    • Filmare și difuzare: prin înscriere, participanții acordă organizatorilor dreptul de a filma, fotografia, difuza și promova materialele din cadrul competiției (inclusiv online), fără o compensație suplimentară.
    • Date personale: datele personale sunt folosite exclusiv pentru organizarea competiției, conform legislației GDPR. Persoana de contact / operatorul de date: NOD International Literary Rights Festival.

    15. Dispoziții finale

    • Rezerva locurilor: dacă un poet selectat nu poate participa, locul revine următorului clasat din etapa respectivă.
    • Limba de comunicare: comunicarea oficială cu participanții se face în română și în engleză.
    • Înscrierea în competiție presupune acceptarea integrală a prezentului regulament.
    • Organizatorii pot modifica regulamentul, anunțând participanții din timp prin canalele oficiale.
    • Deciziile juriului sunt finale.
    •  Pentru situații neprevăzute de prezentul regulament, decizia aparține organizatorilor.

    Slam poetry is where poetry steps off the page and into the body: where the text is not read but spoken, shouted, whispered, and where rhythm, breath, and stage presence become just as important as the words. NOD 2026 hosts the first edition of an international slam poetry championship – a stage open to performance poets from Romania and around the world. These rules describe the conditions for participation, the stages of the competition, and the judging system.

    1. About the championship

    The International Slam Poetry Championship takes place within the NOD International Literary Rights Festival, 2026 edition (24–27 September 2026, Brașov). The competition brings together performance poets from around the world and rewards the strongest combination of text and live performance. The final rounds (semifinal and grand final) take place on the festival stage on 27 September 2026.

    2. Organizer

    The championship is organized by the team of the NOD International Literary Rights Festival. Official communication with participants is conducted via email at manuscris@nodfestival.ro and through the official festival channels (nodfestival.ro and social media).

    3. Eligibility

    • Age: minimum 18 years old at the date of the festival.
    • Openness: the competition is open to anyone, regardless of country, mother tongue, or artistic background. It does not matter whether you have years of open mic behind you or whether this is your first time on stage.
    • Individual: each participant competes individually, with their own texts.
    • Incompatibilities: members of the appointed jury, the preselection committee, and the organizing team may not compete.

    4. Stages of the competition

    The competition has four stages. Twelve semifinalists are invited to Brașov; of these, the top six advance to the Grand Final. The number of poets advancing from one stage to the next may be adjusted by the organizers depending on the number and quality of submissions.

    5. Submission

    5.1. What to submit (Stage 1)

    • Two original texts (in PDF or DOCX format), each accompanied by an English translation*
    • a short bio of up to 80 words: who you are, where you come from, what brought you here, why you write poetry;
    • contact details (name, email, phone, country and city) and the language in which you will perform;
    • a declaration of originality of the texts, the filming/broadcasting agreement, and GDPR consent;
    • confirmation that you are at least 18 years old and acceptance of these rules.

    5.2. How to submit

    Submissions are made online at manuscris@nodfestival.ro.

    5.3. Video round (Stage 2)

    Poets selected after the first stage are notified by email and submit a video recording of their performance between 16–31 August 2026. The recording must be no longer than 4 minutes. The video is to be submitted via the form. Detailed procedural instructions (accepted format, exact submission method, technical requirements) will be communicated after the text-based selection.

    5.4. Technical specifications for texts

    The 2 texts submitted at entry (Stage 1) and their translations must meet the following specifications:

    Note on length. A performed delivery averages roughly 110–120 words per minute (slower than ordinary speech, because of pauses, breath, and emphasis). A 4-minute text is roughly 400–500 words. Poets who deliver fast (rap, dense flow) can fit more; those who leave space and silence will have less. That is why the real limit is the clock, not the character count.

    5.5. Additional provisions on texts and submission

    • Deadline and time zone: online submissions close at 23:59 (Romania time), on the date given in the calendar.
    • Receipt confirmation: The participant automatically receives confirmation that the entry has been recorded.
    • Video (Stage 2): the recording is in MP4 format, minimum 720p, horizontal frame, a single continuous take (no editing or cuts), with clear audio and the poet visible, up to 4 minutes. Detailed instructions are communicated as per art. 5.3.

    6. Text and performance rules

    • Originality: texts must be original, written by the participant.
    • Duration: maximum 4 minutes per text in the live rounds; maximum 4 minutes for the video recording in Stage 2 (see penalties in art. 10).
    • On stage: no props, no costumes, no instruments, and no musical accompaniment – just the voice and the text. A sheet of paper, a notebook, or a phone used to read the text is not considered a prop.
    • Singing: singing, beatboxing, and rap are permitted as ways of delivering the text.
    • Reused texts: texts already performed in slam poetry championships anywhere may not be repeated.
    • Content: content that incites hatred, discrimination, or violence is not accepted.

    7. Language and subtitling

    Each poet performs in the language of their choice – as a rule, their mother tongue. In the live rounds, the texts are subtitled simultaneously on stage in Romanian and English, so that every line reaches every person in the room. Evaluation focuses on the craft of the text in the original language and on the performance; the translation serves comprehension and access, and is not itself an object of literary judgment.

    8. Judging and ranking

    The jury is made up of the audience in the room and a number of jurors appointed by the organizers (people from the fields of literature and the performing arts). The exact composition of the jury is announced when the 12 semifinalists are selected.

    In the live rounds, scores are not displayed immediately after each performance. This ensures that no poet is disadvantaged by the order in which they take the stage, and the jury evaluates only after having heard all the competitors in the round.

    • Ranking at the end of a round: once all competitors have taken the stage, each appointed juror ranks the poets (1st, 2nd, 3rd…), based on the entire round.
    • Scoring (Borda-type system): in a round with 12 poets, 1st place receives 12 points, 2nd place receives 11 points, 3rd place receives 10 points, and so on. The points awarded by all jurors are added together; the poets with the highest totals advance.

    9. Audience vote

    Throughout the live rounds, the audience in the room votes digitally (from their phones) and is part of the jury. The weight of the audience vote relative to that of the appointed jurors in the final ranking is 50% audience / 50% appointed jury.

    10. Penalties

    • Time: exceeding the time limit is penalized with 1 point for every 5 seconds over. If the allotted time is exceeded by one minute, the MC may interrupt the performance.
    • Rules: failure to observe the text or performance rules may lead to disqualification, by decision of the organizers together with the MC.

    11. Tie-breaking

    In the event of a tie between two or more poets, an additional tie-breaking round is organized, in which the poets involved perform a new text; the new score is compared.

    * In stage 1, the registration stage, participants must not submit this third text. It will be sent during the video round, stage 2, and they must keep it in mind for the performance in the tie-breaker round, in case they have been selected for the semifinal/final.

    13. Participation, travel, and accommodation costs

    How travel and accommodation costs are covered for the 12 semifinalists invited to Brașov: participation is at each poet’s own expense.

    14. Copyright, image rights, and personal data

    • Copyright: authors retain all rights to their own texts in full.
    • Filming and broadcasting: by submitting an entry, participants grant the organizers the right to film, photograph, broadcast, and promote materials from the competition (including online), without additional compensation.
    • Personal data: personal data is used exclusively for the organization of the competition, in accordance with GDPR legislation. Contact person / data controller: NOD International Literary Rights Festival.

    15. Final provisions

    • Reserve places: if a selected poet is unable to participate, the place goes to the next-ranked poet from the corresponding stage.
    • Language of communication: official communication with participants is conducted in Romanian and English.
    • Entering the competition entails full acceptance of these rules.
    • The organizers may amend the rules, notifying participants in advance through the official channels.
    • The jury’s decisions are final.
    • For situations not covered by these rules, the decision rests with the organizers.
